Why Apollo funds is buying Forvia Interiors Business Group

Forvia said the sale was a key milestone in its IGNITE strategy, presented in February, to focus on higher value-added, technology-driven activities and strengthen its balance sheet. Apollo said the business would benefit from dedicated leadership and resources as an independent company and that it would back its global position.

Deal terms and financing

The €1.82bn enterprise value equals about 3.1 times the unit's 2025 adjusted EBITDA of €582m, or 4.8 times excluding capitalised R&D and leases. Forvia expects the disposal to cut its net debt by at least €1bn after adjustments and will use all net proceeds to repay financial debt.

Regulatory approvals and timing

Completion requires consultation of employee representative bodies and customary regulatory clearances. Apollo expected closing in the second half of 2026 and Forvia by year-end; no completion announcement was found in the sources reviewed by October 2026.

Market context

The interiors division supplies instrument panels, door panels and centre consoles to global carmakers from 59 production sites and eight R&D centres across 19 countries. Its 2025 revenue of about €4.8bn fell 5.7% year on year.
