Why Cimpress plc is buying SAXOPRINT and viaprinto (CEWE commercial online print)

Cimpress chief executive Robert Keane said the tuck-in extends the group's manufacturing scale, with several Cimpress businesses planning to use SAXOPRINT's production for their main products and SAXOPRINT sourcing other products from Cimpress hubs in Europe. Cimpress expects base-case returns on capital well above 20%.

Deal terms and financing

Cimpress funded the deal from cash and its revolving credit facility. Its annual report put the price at €120m, subject to adjustments for cash, debt and working capital, and said it was pursuing a sale-leaseback of SAXOPRINT's manufacturing site.

Regulatory approvals and timing

The deal required antitrust approval and was completed on 2 July 2026.

Market context

SAXOPRINT is an online print shop for flyers, brochures, catalogues and magazines; viaprinto serves business customers as a reseller. CEWE said the business's potential would be best realised under an owner such as Cimpress.
