Landsec agreed on 1 October to acquire the Metrocentre in Gateshead for £516m from Tynehawk Holdings. It funded the deal with a roughly £500m placing and existing facilities.

Landsec has pledged to invest a further £1bn in major retail assets, betting that top-tier shopping centres are now priced attractively. Deutsche Bank called it the largest UK shopping-centre deal since Landsec bought Liverpool ONE in 2024.
