Nuvei agreed on 15 June to acquire Payoneer Global, the Nasdaq-listed cross-border payments company, for $7.40 a share in cash, an equity value of about $2.75bn.
Why Nuvei is buying Payoneer Global Inc.
Nuvei said combining its payment acceptance with Payoneer's payouts, multi-currency accounts and same-day settlement in more than 150 markets gives businesses one partner to accept, hold and move money, including stablecoin transactions. Payoneer holds an online payments licence in mainland China and in-principle authorisation as a cross-border payment aggregator in India.
“The acquisition of Payoneer marks a defining step in Nuvei's evolution into a global financial infrastructure leader.”
Deal terms and financing
The cash deal was approved by both boards. Committed financing comes from BMO Capital Markets, RBC Capital Markets, Barclays, UBS and Wells Fargo.
Regulatory approvals and timing
Payoneer stockholders approved the merger agreement at a special meeting on 14 September 2026. Closing, expected in mid-2027, still requires regulatory approvals.
Market context
Payoneer's shares rose 4.1% on the news, Yahoo Finance reported. Payoneer serves businesses selling on platforms including Amazon, eBay, Walmart, Airbnb and Shopify.
