TransDigm Group agreed on 27 July to acquire Prince & Izant, a Cleveland-based maker of brazing alloys and specialty metal components, from Industrial Growth Partners for about $1.066bn in cash.
Why TransDigm Group Incorporated is buying Prince & Izant
Chief executive Mike Lisman said the company's highly engineered, proprietary products fit TransDigm's acquisition criteria. Prince & Izant derives most of its revenue from the aftermarket, supplying aerospace and defence, aeroderivative turbine and transport customers from nearly 10,000 active SKUs, mainly in gold, silver and platinum alloys.
“We are excited to have an agreement to acquire Prince & Izant.”
Deal terms and financing
The price includes certain tax benefits. Prince & Izant employs about 220 people at plants in Cleveland, Ohio; Tinley Park, Illinois; Franksville, Wisconsin; and Bay Shore, New York.
Regulatory approvals and timing
The deal required US regulatory approval. TransDigm completed it on 28 September 2026, paying from cash on hand.
Market context
Industrial Growth Partners bought Prince & Izant in 2022, according to PE Professional. TransDigm says it targets private equity-like returns from its acquisitions.
