26North Partners, the investment firm founded by Josh Harris, has agreed to buy MEI Industrial Solutions, a Dallas-based provider of rigging, machinery moving and industrial storage, from Olympus Partners, the companies said on 15 October. Terms were not disclosed.
Why 26North Partners is buying MEI Industrial Solutions
26North said MEI's services cover the physical journey of heavy, high-value equipment from the manufacturer to final placement on site, a need driven by data centre, semiconductor and advanced manufacturing construction. MEI chief executive Doug Dayton said customers were building bigger and faster, often in several states at once.
Deal terms and financing
Affiliates of 26North signed a definitive agreement; the purchase price was not disclosed. MEI will join 26North's private equity portfolio, and management will invest alongside the buyer.
Regulatory approvals and timing
Closing is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary conditions including regulatory approvals.
Market context
Under Olympus ownership MEI grew from 16 to 30 operating locations, roughly quadrupled its indoor storage capacity to more than 10 million sq ft and made seven acquisitions. 26North, founded in 2022, manages about US$38bn across private equity, credit and insurance.
