Accenture agreed on 6 January 2026 to acquire Faculty, a UK-based AI services and products business, to expand its ability to rebuild clients' core processes with secure AI.
Why Accenture plc is buying Faculty
Accenture said Faculty's work on AI strategy, safety and implementation, and its Frontier decision-intelligence product, would help it bring advanced AI into clients' operations. Accenture also plans to extend Faculty's fellowship programme, which moves PhD and master's graduates into industry, to its own staff and clients worldwide.
Deal terms and financing
Terms were not disclosed. ChannelLife and other trade outlets reported the deal at about US$1bn.
Regulatory approvals and timing
The deal was subject to customary conditions including regulatory approval. Accenture announced in mid-March 2026 that the acquisition had been completed, according to BusinessCloud.
Market context
Faculty, founded in 2014, built the NHS Early Warning System during the Covid-19 pandemic and works with OpenAI and Anthropic on model safety and with the UK AI Security Institute on safety assessments.
