Infineon Technologies said on 24 August that it was acquiring C2i Semiconductors, a Bangalore-based specialist in software-defined multiphase controllers and smart power stages for AI data centre applications.
Why Infineon Technologies AG is buying C2i Semiconductors
Infineon said C2i's intelligent digital power management and system-level architectures, including vertical power delivery and substrate-integrated voltage regulators, complement its power semiconductor portfolio and strengthen its position in power solutions for AI data centres, while expanding its engineering presence in India.
“This acquisition will further strengthen Infineon's leadership in power solutions for AI data centers and create a new center of excellence for digital power technologies in India”
Deal terms and financing
Financial terms were not disclosed. The C2i team joins Infineon's Power Systems division.
Regulatory approvals and timing
Infineon had expected the transaction to close in the third quarter of calendar 2026; Evertiq reported on 6 October that it had been completed.
Market context
Infineon said software-defined power solutions, which combine power semiconductors with digital control and software algorithms, are needed as increasingly powerful AI processors create rapidly changing power demands.
