Nippon Paint agreed on Oct 5 to buy AkzoNobel's decorative paints businesses in seven Asia-Pacific markets for $1.35bn.
Market context
Nippon Paint had earlier sought Akzo's whole decorative business for $8.4bn. The scaled-back deal is financed with cash and bank debt and should fully complete by mid-2027.
