Why Paprec Group is buying Brantner green solutions (80%)

Paprec said the deal establishes a growth platform in Central and Eastern Europe, a region where it had no presence, following earlier expansion into Switzerland, Spain and Italy. Bernd Brantner said the family wanted a strong strategic shareholder able to fund substantial long-term investment.

Deal terms and financing

Paprec will hold 80% and the Brantner family the remaining 20%. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal covers only Brantner green solutions; Brantner logistic solutions and Brantner Real Estate remain wholly owned by the family.

Regulatory approvals and timing

Completion is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected in the last quarter of 2026.

Market context

Founded in 1936, Brantner green solutions collects, sorts and recycles waste for more than 28,000 municipal, industrial and commercial customers from 65 sites. After closing Paprec expects to have about 26,000 employees in 15 countries and annual revenue above €4.5bn.
