Why Salesforce, Inc. is buying Fin (formerly Intercom)

Salesforce said Fin's AI agent and Apex model complement Agentforce, which reached $1.2bn of annual recurring revenue in the first quarter of fiscal 2027. Fin says its agents resolve on average 76% of support volume end to end.

“We're thrilled to welcome Fin to Salesforce as we enable every company to become an agentic enterprise”Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO, Salesforce

Deal terms and financing

The price is subject to customary purchase price adjustments. Salesforce said the deal would not change its fiscal 2027 guidance issued on 27 May or affect its capital return programme.

Regulatory approvals and timing

Closing was expected in Salesforce's fiscal fourth quarter subject to regulatory clearances, but the company announced completion on 10 September 2026. Fin now operates within Salesforce AI Labs.

Market context

Fin's agent works with the help desks and systems companies already use. Dakota ranked the deal among the four largest technology transactions of June 2026.
