Chile's Empresa Nacional del Petróleo (ENAP) said on 19 October 2026 that its subsidiary Enap Sipetrol had agreed to buy Pluspetrol Ecuador B.V., which holds an interest in Block 10 in Pastaza, for a base price of US$207m.

Why Enap Sipetrol S.A. (ENAP) is buying Pluspetrol Ecuador B.V. (Block 10)

ENAP said the deal is part of a reorganisation of its international exploration and production portfolio and its integration with refining in Chile, where Ecuadorian crude already makes up more than 20% of the crude processed. It expects Ecuadorian production to rise from 27,000 to 34,000 barrels a day.

Deal terms and financing

The base price of US$207m is subject to adjustment mechanisms and other conditions in the share purchase agreement.

Regulatory approvals and timing

Completion requires approvals from the competent Ecuadorian authorities.

Market context

ENAP has operated in Ecuador since 2003 under service contracts for Blocks 46 and 47, producing more than 150 million barrels. Bloomberg Línea reported the sale as part of a reshuffle by Pluspetrol, which is prioritising investments in Argentina's Vaca Muerta.
