Sources
Every deal is supported by at least two independent sources, at least one of them primary: a company press release, a regulatory or stock-exchange filing, or an investor-relations announcement. All sources are listed on the deal page.
Rumoured deals are published only when two major outlets report them, and are labelled as in talks until the companies confirm terms.
Figures
Deal values are shown in US dollars at the exchange rate of the announcement date, alongside the value as reported in local currency. Where only a range, a reported estimate or a combined-company value exists, the deal is marked undisclosed and the reported figure is shown as such. For deals with milestone payments we use the upfront amount.
We never estimate advisers, quotes or terms. Quotes appear only when the words are verbatim in a primary source and attributed to a named person.
Updates and corrections
When a deal changes status, for example on regulatory clearance, completion, a raised bid or termination, we update its page and record the new date. Errors are corrected on the page as soon as we find them.
Every figure is checked against the cited sources before publication, and stories are written in our own words.

We use companies' own press images or freely licensed photos from Wikimedia Commons, credited on each image. We do not use photos from news outlets.
