HSG, the investment firm formerly known as Sequoia China, has completed the acquisition of about 80% of PeierTech, a Chinese maker of medical-grade nitinol materials and precision components, the company announced on 29 October 2026.
Why HSG (formerly Sequoia China) is buying PeierTech (c.80% stake)
HSG said it saw scope to strengthen PeierTech's global position through international expansion, operational improvements and consolidation of the market. PeierTech's chief executive, Amy Shen, said HSG would bring financial support, international experience and an industry network.
Deal terms and financing
HSG holds about 80% of PeierTech after the deal, with the rest retained by management. HSG plans to introduce a market-based equity incentive programme for key managers. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Market context
Nitinol, a nickel-titanium alloy, is used in cardiovascular, neurovascular, gastrointestinal, orthopaedic and dental devices. Chinese health-care outlet VCBeat reported that the transaction closed at the end of September. HSG reported more than US$61bn of assets under management at 30 June 2026.
