Myriad Genetics agreed on 20 October 2026 to sell its Prenatal Health testing business to Labcorp for US$210m in cash, plus the value of the unit's inventory at closing. The business includes the Prequel, Foresight, SneakPeek and FirstGene tests.

Why Labcorp Holdings Inc. is buying Myriad Genetics Prenatal Health testing business

Myriad said the sale was the direct outcome of a strategic review aimed at sharpening its portfolio and that the proceeds would strengthen its balance sheet to support investment in its cancer care priorities. Labcorp said the deal supports its specialty testing growth strategy and adds a complementary reproductive genetics platform to its women's health portfolio.

Deal terms and financing

Labcorp will pay US$210m in cash plus the value of the business's inventory at closing. Labcorp expects the unit to add about US$160m of revenue in the first year, to be slightly accretive to adjusted earnings in year one and to reach average diagnostics segment margins by the end of year two.

Regulatory approvals and timing

The transaction is subject to regulatory clearance and customary closing conditions and is expected to close by early 2027.

Market context

Over the past twelve months Myriad's prenatal portfolio was used by thousands of providers and more than 600,000 patients. Labcorp, which employs nearly 71,000 people, also agreed in mid-October to buy selected BioReference Health assets from OPKO Health.
