Lakala Payment plans to acquire a controlling stake in Guangzhou Gaofu Information Technology, which runs the Skyee cross-border collection platform, through a share issue and cash payment, according to a plan published on the evening of 16 October.
Why Lakala Payment is buying Guangzhou Gaofu Information Technology (Skyee)
Lakala said the acquisition would extend the market coverage and profitability of its cross-border payments business. Gaofu serves cross-border e-commerce and foreign-trade companies, and also offers salary remittance for foreign nationals; media reports said Lakala first invested in Gaofu in 2021.
Deal terms and financing
Lakala will buy part or all of the Gaofu shares held by Hainan Tami Investment, Lin Jian, Guangzhou Lingjie Investment, Guangzhou Weizhou Investment and Hainan Weichen Technology. Audit and valuation work has not been completed, so the price and the number of new shares are not yet fixed. The new shares will be issued at RMB12.88 each, and the sellers will give profit commitments.
Regulatory approvals and timing
Lakala said the deal is not expected to constitute a major asset restructuring, a related-party transaction or a backdoor listing, and its control will not change. It will not yet call a shareholders' meeting; the final terms will be set out in a restructuring report.
Market context
Gaofu's net profit for the first three quarters of 2026 was about RMB69.66m, roughly 1.5 times its full-year 2025 profit, Shanghai Securities News reported.
