Metso has agreed to acquire Italbronze Ltda., a Brazilian manufacturer of bronze alloy components for the mining and industrial sectors, the Finnish group said on 20 October 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Why Metso Oyj is buying Italbronze Ltda.
Metso said the purchase strengthens its crushing aftermarket business by securing a strategically important manufacturing capability and know-how, and improves supply-chain resilience and spare-parts availability as it seeks to grow aftermarket sales.
“This acquisition secures a critical manufacturing capability for our growing crushing business.”
Deal terms and financing
No price was given. Metso said the transaction is not expected to have a material impact on its financial performance. About 470 Italbronze employees will join Metso when the deal closes, and existing Italbronze customers will continue to be served.
Regulatory approvals and timing
Completion is expected by the end of 2026, subject to approval by the competition authorities.
