A consortium led by Searchlight Capital Partners, in partnership with Fitzroy Capital, has agreed to acquire Kredinor from SpareBank 1 Gruppen and Kredinorstiftelsen, the parties announced on 7 October 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Why Searchlight Capital Partners and Fitzroy Capital (consortium) is buying Kredinor AS

The consortium said it would combine Kredinor's market position and credit management platform with Searchlight's experience in European financial services and Fitzroy's specialist credit management and portfolio investment capabilities to support the company's next phase of growth.

Deal terms and financing

Financial terms were not disclosed. SpareBank 1 Gruppen said Kredinor was not a strategic core business and that the sale was the right next step for the company and its shareholders.

Regulatory approvals and timing

Completion is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions and is expected in January 2027. Kredinor will continue to operate under its existing ownership until then.

Market context

Kredinor merged with Modhi Finance in 2022 and has since sharpened its strategic focus and improved profitability, according to chief executive Rolf Eek-Johansen.
