SK Inc. agreed on 29 October 2026 to sell its 92.25% stake in SK Signet, a Korean maker of electric-vehicle chargers, to SK Electlink for up to ₩200bn, completing an exit it began with a tender offer in July.

Why SK Electlink Co., Ltd. (Anchor Equity Partners) is buying SK Signet Inc. (92.25% from SK Inc.)

SK Inc. said it had classified SK Signet's charger-manufacturing business as non-core, with limited links to the group's main growth areas, and was reallocating capital to core businesses. Korean press reports said the deal gives Anchor Equity Partners, which bought control of SK Electlink from SK Networks last year, a business spanning charger manufacturing and charging operations.

Deal terms and financing

SK Electlink will pay ₩75bn at closing, scaled to the share of SK Signet it acquires, plus a contingent payment of up to ₩125bn tied to SK Signet's 2028–29 earnings. SK Inc., which raised its holding to about 97.6% through two tender offers, will acquire the remaining shares by share exchange, paying ₩8,200 a share in cash.

Regulatory approvals and timing

Closing depends on conditions including merger review by the Korea Fair Trade Commission and is targeted for the first quarter of 2027. SK Signet, listed on the KONEX market, will be delisted after the share exchange.

Market context

SK Inc. first disclosed plans to delist and sell SK Signet on 24 July 2026, when it launched a ₩8,200-a-share tender offer for minority holders. The sale is part of a wider portfolio overhaul at the SK group.
