Kanematsu has completed the acquisition of IDAJ, a provider of simulation and model-based development software, through its Kanematsu Electronics subsidiary, at a final cost of ¥49.8bn.
Why Kanematsu (via Kanematsu Electronics) is buying IDAJ Co. and subsidiaries (via BCJ-61)
When the deal was agreed, Kanematsu said it planned to combine IDAJ's design and analysis technology with its own IT infrastructure, production management and manufacturing execution systems. The aim is to support customers from design through to manufacturing, and to expand beyond the automotive sector into semiconductors, defence, heavy industry and electronics.
Deal terms and financing
Kanematsu Electronics bought all of BCJ-61, IDAJ's holding company, and four other companies. Price adjustments under the share purchase agreement brought the total, including advisory fees, to ¥49.8bn from the ¥50.4bn estimated at signing.
Market context
IDAJ is based in Yokohama. It reported revenue of ¥14.408bn and operating profit of ¥2.778bn for the year to September 2025.
