Why Webmotors (majority-owned by CAR Group Limited) is buying Auto Avaliar (51% stake, from Stellantis)

Auto Avaliar's B2B platform, used by dealerships to appraise trade-ins and sell them on to retailers, extends Webmotors into the stage before a car reaches the consumer market, according to Automotive Business.

Deal terms and financing

Webmotors will take a 51% controlling stake. CAR Group said the transaction is not expected to have a material impact on its consolidated revenue or earnings.

Regulatory approvals and timing

Completion is subject to approval from Brazil's competition authority CADE and the Central Bank of Brazil, together with customary conditions. CAR Group disclosed the deal after media reports followed the start of the CADE review.

Market context

Auto Avaliar was founded in 2012 and has handled about 1.5 million vehicle transactions. PSA, now part of Stellantis, took a minority stake in 2017 and Stellantis acquired the remaining shares in August 2025, according to Exame.
